Rags2Riches Is Changing The Lives Of Filipino Women

Reese Fernandez is a 27 year-old powerhouse who came up with the innovative idea of turning fabric scraps into beautiful accessories. She founded Rags2Riches, an enterprise that lifts women out of poverty and gives them and their families the opportunity to live fulfilling lives in decent circumstances.

Watching this short film, I couldn’t help but remember when I was a kid, making potholders from a loom and loops of brightly colored material. Who would have thought that such a simple thing would have the potential of vastly improving the lives of people who once lived in a garbage dump?
